Information for Parents
The Board of Management of Dunhill N.S asks parents especially past pupils if they have any photos involving the school from past Confirmations, Communions, school events, Sports Days, school matches, etc. could they please put their name on the back of them and an accompanying note regarding the year the photo was taken and who is in the photo to Mary in the office. These will be displayed on the 80th Anniversary Day and returned to the owners afterwards. The school will introduce Aladdin Connect for the start of the new school year. We will be sending out more information to parents prior to its introduction. The Board of Management would like to remind parents that pupils on the school grounds (with the exception of those using the BASC) will only be supervised from 9.10am until 3.10pm. The school will be introducing a Tús Caretaker to help with maintenance and cleaning the school yard etc. This will hopefully occur before the end of this school year. A Camogie Blitz took place for the U-13s on April 29th. Ms McGovern will look after the team. Following this tournament the girls qualified for a shield semi-final. The Girls played in the Semi-Finals of the Camogie competition on May 18th. Ms McGovern looked after the team. They won and will play the Final on Tuesday, May 26th. The School had a team in the GAA Skills Competition in SETU on Wednesday, April 22nd. The school athletics team took part in the Inter-School Athletics in the RSC on Wednesday last, May 13th. The Team was trained by Mrs Power. On Friday, May 15th the 3rd – 6th Class pupils cycled from Dunhill to Annestown via the Anne Valley Walk and the Valley Road. This is an annual activity that links in with Bike Week. The event was organised by Mr. Cooper. The First Communion took place on Saturday, May 23rd at 1pm. The U-11 Boys will played in the Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Blitzes on Thursday, May 21st and will play another blitz on Thursday, June 11th in Kill. Mr Cooper trains the team. Thanks to Bryan Cunningham and Niall Dunphy for assistance on the day. On Thursday, June 4th, The Junior infants are going on their school tour to World of Bounce and Mini-farm in Carrick-on-Suir. On Friday, June 5th, the 1st & 2nd Class are going on their school tour to Fota Wildlife Park in Cork. On Friday, June 12th, the 3rd-6th Class are going on their school tour to Hook Head Lighthouse and Ferrycarrig Heritage Park in Wexford. The School Charity Walk will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd along the Anne Valley Route. The Board of Management on behalf of Dunhill NS would like to congratulate past pupil Rachel Keane on being selected as the New Zealand Rose for this year’s Rose of Tralee. The Board has sent a letter of support to Knockmahon NS. All in Dunhill NS are very sorry to hear that Knockmahon N.S. will close its doors at the end of the 2025/26 school year.
